I’ve been waiting for the right time and place to do this shoot for a few months.  I initially wanted to use the effect in a commercial shoot, but there were too many concerns with safety, so the idea got canned.  I’m glad I finally got to do it for myself!

OUCH! - A BEAUTIFULLY PAINFUL PORTRAIT

After initially noticing Alayna’s dimples while she was making coffee for me at Cafe Vita, I began to initiate conversation.  I soon discovered that she had been previously pierced in both cheeks.  An idea quickly came to mind and I pitched it to her.  That was three months ago.  Yesterday, with the help from Blake, a well known piercing expert who runs Nomad, and Alayna, my cool new friend who enjoys occasional stabbings in the face, I was able to execute my idea exactly how I saw it in my head.
